Marrakech, the starting point of the Sahara

Marrakech is the natural gateway to southern Morocco. In a few hours, the road climbs over the High Atlas and drops into a world of kasbahs, palm groves and, eventually, the dunes of the Sahara.

Every tour below is private, with your own vehicle and driver, and can be adapted to your dates and pace. Short on time? The 2-day Zagora tour is the quickest desert escape. For the high dunes of Erg Chebbi, allow at least three days, for example with the 3 Days Marrakech to Merzouga. If you are continuing north, choose a one-way crossing to Fes. With a week or more, our longer loops combine the desert with the imperial cities, Chefchaouen and the Atlantic coast.

What is the shortest desert tour from Marrakech?

Two days to Zagora. For the high dunes of Merzouga, three days is the minimum.

Zagora or Merzouga?

Zagora is closer but its dunes are small. Merzouga offers the tall dunes of Erg Chebbi and the Dades and Todra gorges on the way.

Are the tours private?

Yes. Each tour includes a private vehicle and driver; shared group options can be discussed on request.

Can a tour end in a different city?

Yes. Several itineraries end in Fes, and we can adapt any route to your flights.
