4 Days Marrakech to Merzouga Desert Tour
Marrakech → Ait Ben Haddou → Dades Valley → Todra Gorge → Merzouga → Rissani → Alnif → N’Kob → Draa Valley → Marrakech
Overview
This four-day loop reaches the same high dunes as our 3-day tour but avoids the very long return drive. On the way out you follow the classic route through Ait Ben Haddou, the Dades Valley and the Todra Gorge to Merzouga, with a camel ride into Erg Chebbi and a night at camp.
The return takes a different road, along the southern edge of the Jebel Saghro mountains through Rissani, Alnif and the kasbah village of N’Kob, then down into the Draa Valley for a night in Agdz or Ouarzazate. The last day crosses the High Atlas back to Marrakech. You see more of the south, drive shorter days and travel at a pace that suits families and photographers.

Day-by-day itinerary

Day 1
Marrakech – Ait Ben Haddou – Dades Valley
Cross the High Atlas, visit Ait Ben Haddou and continue via Ouarzazate, Skoura and the Valley of Roses to the Dades Valley.

Day 2
Dades – Todra Gorge – Merzouga desert camp
Walk in the Todra Gorge, then drive via Erfoud and Rissani to Merzouga. Camel ride into Erg Chebbi for sunset and a night at camp.

Day 3
Merzouga – Rissani – Alnif – N’Kob – Draa Valley
Sunrise over the dunes and breakfast. Drive through Rissani and the stony plains south of Jebel Saghro, known for fossils and nomad camps, to the kasbah village of N’Kob. Continue to the Draa Valley for the night in Agdz or Ouarzazate.

Day 4
Draa Valley – Ouarzazate – Marrakech
A relaxed morning, then return over the Tizi n’Tichka pass with photo stops. Afternoon arrival in Marrakech.

Yes. The shorter driving days make it one of our most family-friendly desert routes.
