Merzouga Sunset Camel Trekking in Erg Chebbi
Overview
A sunset camel trek is the classic Merzouga experience. In the late afternoon you meet your cameleer at the edge of the dunes and set off in a small caravan into Erg Chebbi, where the sand turns from gold to deep orange as the light fades.
You leave the camels at the foot of a high dune and climb to the crest to watch the sunset over the sea of sand. The trek can end back in Merzouga, or continue to a desert camp for dinner and the night. It is suitable for most ages and does not require any experience.
