Merzouga 4×4 Desert Safari and Nomad Visit
Overview
A 4×4 safari reveals the wider landscape around Erg Chebbi, well beyond the dunes seen from the camps. With a local driver-guide, you follow desert tracks around the erg, visiting a nomad family to share tea and learn about life in the desert.
Depending on the route chosen, the safari can include the village of Khamlia and its Gnawa musicians, old lead mining areas, fossil-rich plains, the market town of Rissani and, after rainfall, Dayet Srji, a seasonal lake that sometimes attracts flamingos. Half-day and full-day versions are available.
