Chefchaouen Blue City Day Trip
Fes → Ouazzane road → Chefchaouen → Fes
Overview
Chefchaouen, founded in the 15th century in the Rif mountains, is famous for its streets painted in every shade of blue. From Fes, the drive takes around three and a half to four hours each way through olive groves and green hills, so this is a long but very rewarding day.
Once there, you have free time to explore the medina at your own pace: the kasbah and the central Outa el-Hammam square, the Ras el-Ma spring where locals still wash wool, and countless photogenic stairways. A local guide can be arranged on request. If you can, consider staying overnight, as the town is especially peaceful in the evening.
