Not every traveller has time for the Sahara on every trip. This itinerary links Fes and Marrakech through the north and the Atlantic coast instead, focusing on Morocco’s towns and history. You start with two nights in Chefchaouen, the blue-washed town of the Rif mountains, with time to wander, shop for local crafts and walk to the viewpoint above the medina.
You then drive to Rabat, Morocco’s elegant capital, and continue via Casablanca and its Hassan II Mosque to Marrakech, where the last day is dedicated to a guided visit of the medina. It is a calm, cultural route that suits families, student groups and anyone combining Morocco with a separate desert trip.

Day-by-day itinerary

Day 1
Fes – Chefchaouen
Drive north through the Rif foothills to Chefchaouen (about 4 hours). Afternoon walk in the blue medina and sunset from the Spanish Mosque viewpoint.

Chefchaouen free day
Explore the medina at your own pace, or take an optional excursion to the Akchour area for a nature walk. Second night in Chefchaouen.

Day 3
Chefchaouen – Rabat
Drive to Rabat and visit the Kasbah of the Udayas, the Hassan Tower and the Mausoleum of Mohammed V. Night in Rabat.

Day 4
Rabat – Casablanca – Marrakech
Visit the Hassan II Mosque in Casablanca, then continue to Marrakech for the night.

Marrakech guided visit
Half-day guided visit of the medina, palaces and souks. End of services.
