Overview
This four-day crossing from Fes to Marrakech is our recommended way to combine the north and the south of Morocco. You have two nights near the dunes and a full day to explore the desert, then follow the road of a thousand kasbahs west at a comfortable pace.
Along the way you walk in the Todra Gorge, explore the Dades Valley, pass the Valley of Roses and the Skoura oasis, and visit Ait Ben Haddou before the final crossing of the High Atlas. With a luxury desert camp and boutique accommodation, this itinerary also works beautifully as a honeymoon or premium journey.

Day-by-day itinerary

Day 1
Fes – Ifrane – Midelt – Merzouga desert camp
Cross the Middle Atlas and the Ziz Valley to Merzouga. Camel ride into the dunes and a night at camp.

Day 2
A day in the desert
Khamlia, Rissani, nomad families or simply time on the dunes. Optional activities on request. Second night near Erg Chebbi.

Day 3
Merzouga – Todra Gorge – Dades Valley
Drive west to the Todra Gorge for a walk, then continue to the Dades Valley for the night.

Day 4
Dades – Skoura – Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech
Valley of Roses, Skoura, Ouarzazate and Ait Ben Haddou, then the High Atlas crossing to Marrakech.
