Overview
Designed for travellers who fly in and out of Fes, this seven-day loop shows the whole country without backtracking. You head south first to the Erg Chebbi dunes, then west along the Todra and Dades gorges, past Ait Ben Haddou and over the High Atlas to Marrakech, where you have a full day to explore.
The second half of the loop runs north along the Atlantic to Casablanca and Rabat, then up into the Rif to Chefchaouen before returning to Fes. Desert, mountains, imperial cities and the blue town: it is a complete first journey through Morocco.

Day-by-day itinerary

Day 1
Fes – Ifrane – Midelt – Merzouga desert camp
Cross the Middle Atlas and the Ziz Valley to Merzouga. Camel ride and a night in the dunes.

Day 2
Merzouga – Todra Gorge – Dades Valley
Sunrise, then drive west to the Todra Gorge and the Dades Valley.

Day 3
Dades – Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech
Valley of Roses, Ouarzazate and Ait Ben Haddou, then the High Atlas crossing to Marrakech.

Day 4
Marrakech
Guided half-day in the medina, then free time for the souks and Jemaa el-Fna square.

Day 5
Marrakech – Casablanca – Rabat
Drive to Casablanca to see the Hassan II Mosque, then on to Rabat for the night.

Rabat – Chefchaouen
Morning visit of Rabat, then drive to Chefchaouen.

Chefchaouen – Fes
Morning in the blue medina, then return to Fes (about 4 hours). End of services.
