Lalla Takerkoust Lake Day Trip
Marrakech → Lalla Takerkoust → (Agafay optional) → Marrakech
Overview
Lalla Takerkoust is a large reservoir at the foot of the High Atlas, about 40 minutes from Marrakech. With the mountains reflected in the water and the Agafay hills nearby, it is a peaceful place to slow down for a day.
Lakeside restaurants and lodges offer lunch with a view, and local operators propose activities such as kayaking, quad biking or camel rides in the surrounding hills. The trip is easy to combine with the Agafay Desert for sunset. Water levels vary with rainfall, so the lake’s appearance changes from year to year.
