Overview
The Agafay Desert is a landscape of bare, rolling hills about 40 minutes to an hour from Marrakech. It is not a sand dune desert like the Sahara, but its wide-open views, lunar colours and the snowy High Atlas on the horizon make it a beautiful escape from the city.
This trip is usually planned for the afternoon, with a camel ride across the hills, time to relax at a desert camp and sunset over the Atlas. You can add a quad or buggy ride, or stay for dinner at camp before returning to Marrakech. It is the perfect choice if you would like a desert experience but do not have time for Zagora or Merzouga.
