Imlil & High Atlas Mountains Day Trip
Marrakech → Asni → Imlil → Aroumd → Marrakech
Overview
Imlil sits at about 1,740 metres at the foot of Jebel Toubkal, North Africa’s highest mountain, roughly an hour and a half from Marrakech. It is the base for treks into Toubkal National Park, but it is just as rewarding for a day walk through the surrounding villages.
With a local mountain guide, you follow mule tracks between terraced fields, walnut and apple orchards and earthen villages such as Aroumd, with views of the high peaks. The walk is adapted to your level, from a gentle stroll to a longer hike. Lunch can be arranged in a village house, followed by the drive back through the Asni valley to Marrakech.
