Ouzoud Waterfalls Day Trip
Marrakech → Demnate road → Ouzoud → Marrakech
Overview
The Ouzoud Waterfalls plunge around 110 metres in several tiers into a red-rock gorge in the Middle Atlas foothills, about two and a half to three hours north-east of Marrakech. They are among the most impressive waterfalls in Morocco and a refreshing change from the city.
A path leads down through olive groves to the base of the falls, where small boats take visitors close to the spray. Barbary macaques live in the trees around the site and are often seen near the path. You can then climb the other side for panoramic views and lunch on a terrace overlooking the cascades. The drive passes through rural villages and farmland, giving a different view of Morocco.
