Ourika Valley & Atlas Mountains Day Trip
Marrakech → Tnine Ourika → Ourika Valley → Setti Fatma → Marrakech
Overview
Only about an hour from Marrakech, the Ourika Valley is the easiest way to experience the High Atlas. The road follows the Ourika river past orchards, terraced fields and earthen villages, with the snow-capped peaks often visible in winter and spring.
Along the way you can visit a women’s argan cooperative and a traditional Berber house for mint tea. At the end of the road, the village of Setti Fatma is the starting point of a walk to the first of its waterfalls. The path involves some rocky sections and scrambling, so good shoes are essential. Lunch by the river, in one of the riverside restaurants, is a highlight in warm weather.
