Overview
This one-way route is one of the most complete ways to cross Morocco in under a week. From Casablanca you head north via Rabat to the blue town of Chefchaouen, then visit the Roman ruins of Volubilis and imperial Meknes before arriving in Fes, where a licensed guide shows you the medina.
From Fes you cross the Middle Atlas to Merzouga for a camel ride into the Erg Chebbi dunes, then follow the Todra and Dades gorges west to Ait Ben Haddou and Marrakech. The itinerary is varied and well paced, ideal if you arrive in Casablanca and leave from Marrakech.

Day 1
Casablanca – Rabat – Chefchaouen
Hassan II Mosque, short visit of Rabat, then drive to Chefchaouen for the night.

Chefchaouen – Volubilis – Meknes – Fes
Morning in the blue medina, then Volubilis and Meknes on the way to Fes.

Fes guided visit
Full day in the Fes medina with a licensed guide.

Fes – Ifrane – Midelt – Merzouga
Cross the Middle Atlas and the Ziz Valley. Camel ride and a night at camp.

Merzouga – Todra Gorge – Dades Valley
Sunrise, then west to the gorges.

Dades – Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech
Ouarzazate, Ait Ben Haddou and the High Atlas crossing to Marrakech.
